Warning: This post is also not as full of pictures of food, plants, and animals like I had promised some of you, be patient. It's also a little deep and possibly boring, my apologies.
Last year on this day, I was climbing out of the blown-out side window of my van and looking at the underside of it in too much detail. Call it what you will, but I left the side of the road with what barely fits the definition of a scratch and a concussion. These events are supposed to be life changing, eye opening, etc; however, at that point in time all I knew is I had to find a way to work and finish submitting paperwork in hopes that I would be able to go to Germany and avoid driving for a year.
As I'm currently writing this from Germany, you can see that that happened, but I'm still answering "what do you want to do afterwards?" with "Uh....can I get back to you on that?". I still don't know what I want to be or do when I grow up, but I hope this year helps me decide something.
I always said I would never teach, but here I am, about to teach in a school of around 1700 students (go big or go home, anyone?). Either way, I'm sure this will sway me in some direction. Just don't ask me how. The one thing I know, is that I'm here for a reason, but don't ask me why.
Later posts will be more lighthearted, I just felt like this needed to be said.
